My First Blog Post
My name is Favour Epuna and welcome to my very first blog post. Now I'm sure many of you might be thinking why I decided to join the blogging community, and what makes my blog unique from others. Well sit down and relax while I share my story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I always looked around the house for storybooks to read so much so that I continuously beg my mom to take me to the library in Abuja, Nigeria; so I could pick books to read. The excitement I get once I start reading the storybooks is unexplainable, but once I'm done reading those storybooks I become restless and start searching for something else to read. You would expect that the next thing for me to read would be my dad's newspaper seeing that I have so much love for reading. Well, I'm really sorry to disappoint you; newspapers were really not my thing as a child. I just saw that it was too advanced for me and also had less animated pictures so I refrained from reading them. Once I got into secondary school (High school), I started picking up my father's Sunday newspaper to read and was also drawn to the fashion section of the newspaper because I saw that fashion was one of my mother's interest. She would spend so much time looking at the fashion styles and trends to decide which style she was going to pick so her tailor can make the exact replica of her African print fabric.
While my desire for reading sparked my interest in starting this blog, I allowed fear and procrastination to build a castle in my life hindering me from fulfilling my purpose to humanity.
But I am really grateful for the family and friends I have around me. Not only did they help me overcome the habit of procrastination, they also encouraged and uplifted my spirit by instilling positivity in my life. It still feels surreal to be writing this blog, but I'm really glad to have taken this bold step in creating this blog so I get to share my thoughts on important natural hair regimen, inspirational ideas, health care tips, book reviews and my future adventures to you all.
I'll be posting a blog on my natural hair transition journey next week, so make sure to be on the lookout for that post.
P.s: I'm currently reading "Children of Blood and Bone" by Tomi Adeyemi.
Click here if you want to purchase this book which I highly encourage. I'll make sure to write a review of this book once I'm done reading it.
I look forward to getting to know you all and seeing your comments. Until next time. Smile, love, and live life to the fullest.
